Pearls and Coffee Cups

Bringing it all together

As I sit and sip my morning coffee, and glance at the time display in the upper left of the phone, I have exactly ten minutes to draft this good morning note to you. Oh, nine now. Let's hurry.

After an extra day off on Friday, busy eating tacos and building my webpage, a Saturday making Turkish coffee (what fun!), and then having plans canceled due to the weather but giving me plenty of time to go on a bender of writing and vlogging about my aggregations with the modern web (see the Editorial section on my webpage), I have arrived at a existential conclusion. I have plenty of time and not enough time at all.

Plenty of time to begin small personal projects, but not enough to lead them into their fullest potential. But why?

Outside of the usual reasons (sleep, work, and social events), why have I not completed one full adult-level business goal of my own personal choosing.

Or maybe I have. Maybe I have been surveying my accomplishments from the incorrect purview. Looking at my small business as seen from the worldly standards, instead of creating my own guidance. Maybe my time to build is plenty when I stop running a race with phantoms and begin walking on my personal path.

I've heard the motto of the modern era is to move fast and break things, but where has that gotten us, as a society, so far?

How about, take your time and build creations that last, so those that follow still marvel at, like the pyramids? I encourage myself. I encourage you. Find time to build successes that last. There's now, and then there's forever. I want mine to move forward into the second category.

Oh darn, I went over my allotted writing time. But it was worth it.

Happy first day of the week!
